Diaper Days

Do y'all ever have days that you seem to not be able to get a darn thing done? Surely other people have these days, right?!? Well, I seem to have had them everyday this week.

Dylan has always been such as sweet, quiet, low maintenance kid. As a baby, he next to never cried. He has always been slow to anger, just like his Daddy. His little sister is the Yang to his Yin. :D My little girl is a spit fire, just like her Mommy. The past couple of days she has been particularly fussy though. Like REALLY fussy. She want to be either in my lap or have me sit right next to her on the floor. If I do not oblige, there is a major meltdown. She is only 9 months old, so it isn't as though I can punish her. I do let her cry for a minute but I can't let her scream forever, so I have been giving in.

All this equals nothing getting done around my house. I have laundry begging to done and bathrooms waiting to be scrubbed. We haven't even gotten dressed today. Nor did when on Monday. She has a closet FULL of clothes and has not had more than a diaper on since breakfast this morning. Its just a diaper kind of day.

Please share with me your tips and tricks if you have them!

One Day You Will Be

If his Daddy does it.
He wants to do it.
His Daddy is his Hero.

Daddy plays soccer.
Its just a small work leauge,
but Dylan thinks its the Pros.

As he watches threw the glass
he cheers in pure excitement.
He looks up at me and says
"When I grow up
I want to be just like my Daddy"

"One day, You will be"

Escaping from a boring day...

Monday's are always a day for the kids and I to be super lazy and recoup from the weekend. Today was no different. We stayed in our pjs until after lunchtime and did pretty much nothing all day. It was pure bliss. I have a lot to do tomorrow though. I need to catch up on some laundry, we have a brunch date with my Bestest and the kids God-Mother, Regina aka GiGi, and then we are going over to my mom's house to visit and go swimming for a bit. I also need to squeeze in a trip to the grocery store. Whew. I'm tired from that already. Maybe I'm pregnant. Ha! Nope, I know for a fact that I'm not.

Since I just brought up being pregnant, I'm going to share a little tid bit with y'all. I would LOVE to have a third baby. So much so, in fact, that I already have day dreamt up the name of this third child. This is not very *out there* for me though. I prayed from the time Dylan was just a baby that my next child would be a healthy little girl and I knew that when she came her name would be London. Creepy enough, I even once said a few years ago that we would like to have our little girl in October of 2008. London was born October 3, 2008. Wow, huh? I didn't even realize that until my Mother-in-law reminded me of that night. Okay, back to wanting a baby. I would love, love, love to have a little *Camden* or *Lilli* in the next couple of years. I don't see this as happening though, seeing as how my Hubby does not want anymore kids. He is the most amazing father, next to my own, that I have ever known. He plays with my kids in the floor everyday, teaches them patiently, and loves them unconditionally. He even takes early morning shifts with London. :D He loves our kids with everything inside of him, he just doesn't want to add another member to our family. I can respect that. Some of our friends have told me that time may change his mind, but for now, I am just learning to be content with the beautiful family that I have right now. I am thankful everyday for my handsome Hubby and our beautiful, healthy children.

Back to our boring day. London decided she had enough of the boredom and tried to escape while I was snapping a picture of her big brother.

How am I ever going to be mad at this little face!?

Or this sweet little one either?

Kelly's Blog Carnival

This week Kelly is hosting a carnival for KIDS BIRTHDAYS!! Both of my little cuties have birthdays coming up, so I have lots to share this time! Lets start with Dylan since he's the oldest, shall we?

My little guy loves all things action figures. He loves super heroes, video games, and G.I. Joes. I asked him what theme he would like for his 5th birthday and was not too surprised to hear "I want to have an Army party!" He says he is going to be in the Army like my husband's brother, Uncle Lee. Sweet, huh? Okay, back to the party. Camo. Lots of it.

I found paper products like this:

at Party City for half off! WoooHooo!

For the invites, a good friend of ours are going to do some custom ones for us that will be along the lines of something like this:

I am thinking of using these as goodies for the party/favors to take home:

I figured the kids can have their drinks in these and then take 'em home after the party.

And I just thought that these would be so cute for the kids to wear. I am going to use a paint pen to write each kid's last name on the hat. I'm pretty excited about this one!

For decor, I am going to use... CAMO (I bet you didn't see that coming!) ;). I found these cute star balloons and will mix them in with some green and brown ones. I think I am going to use a dark brown for the table covers just to break it up a bit.

For the rest of the party favors, I found these cute little binoculars to put in:

and then I have some plastic compasses and whistles along with a couple army tattoos and maybe a G.I. Joe thrown in. I think that will be plenty?

And maybe most importantly, what he will wear!! Actually, I am the only one in my house who cares, but oh well! My mom is going to make him a shirt like this, but whit and with camo fabric:

And he will wear these camo shorts from Gymboree:
And because I am a fashion crazed mom, London is going to have a camo dress with pink detailing to wear to her big bro's party.
Sheesh. I didn't even make it to London's birthday dinner. Its midnight, so I'll come back tomorrow, okay?

Our Memom is cool!

The inlaws are in town for the day. They stopped by our house while passing through from San Antonio back to their home in Mississippi. We always enjoy their visits and today was no different. Memom even spent sometime outside with Dylan for a sword fight. How cool is that!?

Daniel joined them outside a little later for a game of soccer.

London and I sat on the sidelines and watched as she enjoyed a fresh peach.

Memom and her boys!

Everyone is watching a movie right now (I am cheating and using this time to catch up with blogging and email) and when we put the babes down we are going to play a few rounds of cards. Ahhhh. Bliss.

What do you do when your inlaws are in town?

Why do today what you can put of until tomorrow?

You know what I hate the most about waiting until the last minute to get something done? Not being able to leave it for later. Ha! Sad, but true.

The inlaws are coming in town today. Lots to get done, little time to do it in. I'm soooo wishing that I had more time so that I could put off doing all of this.

Summer Smells Like...

"I think smells like watermelon, Mommy" -Dylan
"Oooh. I think so too." -Mommy

Just because I think its lots of fun, don't they look super cute in their Disney gear!? Our Aunt Paula gave them to us from her last trip to Disney. I love for the kids to coordinate and Dylan loves Mickey Mouse Club house... perfect combo, no?

Bedtime Whoas

Miss London Lou is enjoying pulling her self up on any thing and everything that she can lately. Everything, including her bed. Sadly, her bed is set on the highest level because that was what was best, until now. Huh? Just move it down to a lower setting? Sure! That makes complete since. Apparently Daniel doesn't have whatever it is that he needs to get the job done. I was hoping he would go to home depot today, but no such luck. Maybe tomorrow.
We can't have her flipping out of the bed though, so until then her are her new digs....
*Sigh* They grow up so fast!

Not Me Monday!

Welcome, Friends! Today is Monday (yuck!!) and you know what that means....

That's right, folks. Its time for MckMama weekly confessional. Here we go...

Last week while visiting my inlaws in Mississippi, I did not feel the need to leave the day we got there after finding out they had no internet connection. I can live without that for a couple of days. No problem. I was not slightly thrilled when it was time to leave there house head to the Grandparent's where internet was plentiful.

Once arriving at the Grandparent's place I was not on my lap top with in two hours catching up on all my emails, blog, facebook, and etsey store. No! I wouldn't do that! We drove 10 hours to Mississippi to be with family, not the internet!

We had planned on leaving Dylan to stay in Mississippi with the inlaws for a week after we left Mississippi. I was not very nervous about doing this. I most certainly was not a tiny bit relieved when he decided to not stay because he was already homesick.

Once arriving home, I did not leave our suitcases in the front entry for 3 days. Who on earth would do that!? Well, not me!

I am not still in my pjs at 10:30am. My kids are not either.

Whew! I feel a thousand pounds lighter! Thanks for letting me confess to y'all what I did not do this week. That's much better now!

Wishing we were back in Mississippi...

Just last week, we were in Mississippi with lots of family...
picking blueberries

swinging in tree swings.

splashing in wading pools

and enjoying old time scenery.

At this moment, I sure do wish we were back there.

Today has been a busy day with lots to do and the kids are cranky. It would be so nice to be back at the Grandparent's house with Dylan playing in the yard, Daniel in the workshop with his Grandpa, and London and I swinging in the gazebo. Sounds like heaven, huh? Pretty close, anyways.
