Last week was Fat Tuesday, and to celebrate Mardi Gras, my mom went to Dylan's school and hosted a a little mini-celebration. She read the kids a book that explained what Mardi Gras is, "threw" beads to the kids, danced to Cajun tunes, and shared a king cake with them.
This is not a celebrated holiday here in Texas the way it is in Mississippi or Louisiana, but I am so glad that my mom continues the traditions that she had growing up with my kids. I know the will have special memories of Grammy and Mardi Gras when they grow up, and that makes my heart so happy!
