Snow the Next... Few Weeks Later?

When I posted "Park One Day, Snow the Next", I had planned to post snow pictures the next day. Life happens and I neglect this little space of mine, so here I am two or three weeks later sharing our snow day.

I have to admit that I was not overly excited for a snow day. I just can't bring myself to like snow very much. I think its a nuisance. BUT my children... both of their little faces light up like its Christmas day and they jump and shriek for joy. And with that, how can one NOT like snow days?
We were eating out with some friends of ours when it started raining. We were sitting in a restaurant with lots of windows and it was simply beautiful. I told them I felt like we should hold hands and sing Kumbaya. We didn't, of course, but if ever there is that kind of moment, I think this was kind of it.

After lunch we headed home, suited the kids up to play out in the snow, and headed out. I love, love, love to take pictures of my family, especially during special times like this, but sometimes I have to make myself put down the camera and BE in the moment with them. So, there are not a million pictures, but there are enough, and the four of us had a great time. Snow balls, snow angels, mini-snowmen, everything that should come with snow, we enjoyed it. I do by best to soak it every minute of moments like this.
Last year, London was too small to really enjoy the snow. When we took he outside she just stood like a frozen statue in the snow, but she would scream bloody murder if we tried to pick her up to take her inside. This year, she LOVED the snow. Both of my babes seem to be snow bunnies. She and Dylan had a great time chasing each other in the snow and having snow ball fights. Dylan's favorite thing was the snow ball fights and I think London's was eating the snow.
Once we (the kids, grown up were done with in minutes) had enough of the cold, we all came in and snuggled down withs some blankets, warm coco and marshmallows, and a movie. We kept the windows open and watched the snow fall down. It was beautiful and sort of magical.

I must say, one snow day a year is pretty great, but there is NO WAY I would want to live in the North during the winter. Snow all the time and more than a few inches? No thanks!

Park One Day, Snow the Next.

I mean, how crazy is it that Saturday our kids were playing at the park with no need for a jacket, and the next day it is snowing!? Thats so wild to me. Infact, it was so warm earlier last week that when I told a flip flop wearing Daniel they were predicting it would snow in just days, he told me "If it snows, I will eat this flip flop!" He should be glad I didn't hold him to that one!

The afternoon at the park was beautiful and just slightly chilly.
Just chilly enough for a cup of coco!
But warm enough to enjoy lots of playtime in the sunshine and lots of fresh air.
The kids spent lots of time swinging.
Climbing. Running. Loving life.
The Hubby and I cuddled up, sipped our warm coco, and planned for fabulous a summer vacation.
Weekend at the park are one of my favorite things.
Letting our babes run free and play until their hearts are content (or until it gets just a little to chilly for Mommy to stay any longer) and being snuggled next to my best friend, it makes my heart do a little happy dance.
And the fact that the littles sleep so soundly after a day at the park? Why, thats the cherry on top! *wink*

Drained.

Its been long day, nope make that week, and I'm popped. Still, I'm squeezing the hell out of all the lemons I seem to find around here and plan to whip up some sweet lemonade. And to be honest, and the "lemons" are nothing that will mater in a month from now, so I feel too blessed to gripe. So no griping, just tired!

These two bundle of joys make my heart so happy (as does their daddy):
Food for thought: "A criticism is just a really bad way of making a request...so just make the request." — Diane Sawyer
I love that. Love. I bet I'm the only one who is this way (*wink, wink*) but when under lots of stress I get pretty darn snappy. I heard this quote last night and thought of it several times today. I'll admit my snippiness still got the best of me, but hey! I'm a work in progress.

Things that make me happy.

The Holidays are officially over. Whew. And so are the one million post about them. As much as I do love 'em, I think I'm good to not think about Christmas for a whole other year. Lucky for me, it times out just right! :)

So since Christmas and New Years, we have been having lots of laid back days, not going very many places, and enjoying the quietness. I will admit that I was about ready to start being out of the house again yesterday but when I went to get in my car, it wouldn't start. Great. Its currently at the shop. Of course that stinks like you know what, especially for my bank account right after the holidays, but you know what... there isn't anything I can do about. So, I'm not letting it get me down. We are making lemons into lemonade, baby! Since we could not leave the house yesterday, we declared it pajama day. London and I took a long hot bath and then slipped into some new clean pjs. When Dylan got home from school he thought we were a little silly, but when I explained it to him, he said "Oh! Cool!" and the next thing I knew he was in his pjs too. I love that about this kid. He is so laid back and go with the flow. I cooked breakfast for supper, as it was only appropriate and then we curled up and watched tv until bedtime. Daniel didn't get home until ten-something last night, so I cleared out all the girly shows on our DVR... lemons into lemonade ya'll!

Today I decided we needed to get dressed even if we were stranded. I didn't get much done in way of housework, although it would have been a great day for that, but I did host a pretty mean tea party for my princess. I did spend an hour outside with my littles, one dressed as superman and the other as a puppy. I did clear my mine while hanging out on the floor playing board games, focusing only on them and not letting my mine wonder to this or that place. I did bake cookies with my girl, who wanted to wear her brothers spider man apron rather than her princess one, thats okay- you rock that Spidy apron girl! I am NOT a chilled out kind of gal, but today I think I conquered it. The art of being chill. Chilllaxing, as my mom says. And with the close of the day and a to do list full of no check marks of completion, I set down and think about how blessed I am. The little things that so easily stress me out... they'll all be faint memories in months to come. They aren't even worth getting upset about. So what that I don't have a car for a couple of days!? I'll spend lots of time with two little souls that light up our family like beautiful candlelight. So what that money might be just a little tight for the next month or so!? We'll rock a homemade pizza rather than going out, and my littles will LOVE that.

I have too much to be thankful for and happy about to be down in the dumps.

I have babes who have a new found love of "shaving":

And a Hubby who got a little to excited about teaching Dylan to shave! I love how much this guy loves our babies. I think Dylan might need a refresher course in about ten years though.

I have boy with a new love of sports, his newest being football. He says he'll be a football player once he retires from making films. Shoot for the sky, sweet boy, shoot for the sky!

And again, a hubby that gets in the yard and plays ball with his mini-me-number-one.
And then comes in and has an impromptu Choo Choo ride with his mini-me-number-two. Oh yeh, and all the while he is helping me take down Christmas decor. I know, I know. I'm a lucky girl. He's pretty much superman.
I have a girl that loves tea parties. My heart can't get any happier. She likes to be called "MISS London" during Tea and she calls me "MISS Mommy."

And a girl that loves to dance like a rock-star to the classical sounds of "Barbie Girl!". I know. I'm teaching her right.

And a girl who loves a cell phone the way that I love a pair of sexy-sexy-shoes. Uh, oh! I just had flash backs to hours and hours of being on the phone as teenager. I think Little Miss Priss might follow in my sexy-shoe prints on that one!

And to top off all those things of happiness, I have a hubby who is on his way home, some fresh baked cookies, thanks to a certain little sous chef, and a show that we both love on the tivo. All of these little things, they are what make me happy. They are what makes life sweet. They're the things that matter.

Lunch with My Daddy!

As much as I love every stop and every visit that we make in Mississippi, I have to be honest and say that seeing my Daddy is always the highlight for me. We met for lunch, and although it wasn't a very long visit, it was so, so special and sweet. London was giddy over her PawPaw and Dylan loves him so much too.
The funniest thing to me was that London would keep holding her hand up to my dad and say "Kiss me!" and then she would just giggle and giggle. I don't know which one of them was eating it up more.

This might be one of my very most favorite photos ever. The three most important men in my life. My Daddy, my Hubby, and my Son. My heart is happy every time I see it. Again, I'm counting down until our trip in the Spring!

Time in McComb

The next day I felt like a whole new woman. I told Daniel's mom it was so nice to feel human again! His mom and dad just bought a new house that is so nice and its on a river, so we were all excited to get out and see the place. Let me tell you. I see some magical times ahead in this place. It is beautiful. peaceful. perfect. We can not wait to go back this summer. I have feeling that this is going to be another piece of heaven on earth for us. How lucky are we!?
The kids loved the river and skipping rocks with Umpa.

London can't wait wait to get in a boat this summer and Dylan is ready to go swimming. I'm not sure about swimming in a river. It makes me nervous. But, I bet it will still happen. I think it should.
We had to say good bye to Uncle Lee when he headed to the airport that morning. I know my kids love, love, love him but it surprised me a bit when Dylan cried for him. We only live a few hours away, so I promised a trip to see him in the near future. Ready for that, Lee!?
We didn't get nearly as much time a we had planned for McComb, but the time we did have was lovely. We really can not wait until this summer.
